Second Thoughts About Monsters

Image
The Monster doesn’t Kill Frankenstein  But all he holds near and dear And this is why Victor Falls into a deep despair Is this story a metaphor  For what’s wrong in this world? How many monsters will we create And then allow ourselves to be Destroyed by our creations Blinded by what we refuse to see. On second thought maybe those monsters Are mirrors into the human soul. Maybe the creator is the true monster More like a Jekyll and Hyde role. Is this insight a messenger For folly and foible of humans whorled?

On Second Thought

Second thoughts have an infinitesimal window. A brief inaudible sigh to change your course. To right a wrong before it materializes. A wink of time to blithely avoid remorse. In that split second we are at fate’s mercy. She lurks in that dark moment like a shadow. It’s more than just a fork, a road not taken. Second thoughts have an infinitesimal window.

Slasher

Image
Stalking the dwelling for days, One victim already lay dead. A confusion of white and red Spilled onto the floor. Watching, waiting patiently For a resident to exit the door. A sharp object glinting in the light, Eyes glowing with predatory delight. “Slash, get away from there,” she yelled! A quick snap of his head, He held her in an indifferent gaze. Retracting his claws he eyed The uncovered tank one last time. Then curled up on a pillow bed, Doing as she wished, Cat-napping Dreaming of fish.

Mood of the Day

I thought I’d wake up Feeling the  Weight of the World Caving in on me. Instead I awoke to Optimism and Hope. A sigh of relief, A sign of the time, A short-lived era of Chaos and crazy Lifts us to the light.

Human Folly
