Second Thoughts About Monsters

The Monster doesn’t Kill Frankenstein

But all he holds near and dear

And this is why Victor

Falls into a deep despair

Is this story a metaphor

For what’s wrong in this world?

How many monsters will we create

And then allow ourselves to be

Destroyed by our creations

Blinded by what we refuse to see.

On second thought maybe those monsters

Are mirrors into the human soul.

Maybe the creator is the true monster

More like a Jekyll and Hyde role.

Is this insight a messenger

For folly and foible of humans whorled?
